Born and raised in Arizona, I started my career here and quickly started shooting ads for TV shows around the US. I have been fortunate to now work around the globe on campaigns for a very diverse group of clients.
While my career and notoriety have come from my advertising campaigns with celebrities and professional athletes, during the pandemic I took to photographing trains. It was the safest option for me to stay sharp behind the camera, and helped me to stay calm.
This image was from my first day with the Canon EOS 1D-X Mark III. Using it brought back fond memories of the beginning of my career (20 years ago) using the original 1D. For the shot I had the EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM lens (when I was beginning, it was the first version). I had planned this shot for a couple weeks, and it was originally intended to be shot on the EOS R. However, the train was running significantly faster than normal, and the extra FPS proved invaluable.”
