Photo by #CanonCreator @iamthecatphotographer: “For as much as I take photos of cats, I so rarely take pictures of my own! I was working on a concept of obscuration, initially trying out pictures of my cat in tunnels, blankets, and boxes accompanied by complicated lighting systems from various angles. You name it; I tried it. And if you know cats, you know that photographing them can be tricky, especially if they sense you’re hard at work! Frustrated, I began to pack up my EOS 5D Mark IV for the day. At that moment, my cat hopped up on the bed and sat in the one sunbeam shining through the drapes. I finally had the photo I was after. Fortunately, working with Canon’s system is unbelievably simple to quickly switch settings to match the environment. All the essential features are literally at your fingertips so that you never miss a golden opportunity. I spun my aperture wheel and modified the shutter speed slightly, and boom! Working with animals has its own inherent set of difficulties, and sometimes you just have to be patient and let them call the shots.”
