“At a young age, my dad learned to cook Chinese food from his uncle, a chef. My dad would cook us such delicious meals—nothing like you find at most Chinese restaurants—and I think that was one of his expressions for his love for us. He also passed on his love for food to me, and it’s one of my favorite parts of being Chinese-American. I delight in all types of Asian foods, especially when traveling to Hawaii, which is where I captured this photo of palm trees and a sunset.”
