Most would think that capturing such a tight frame would be easy but it’s actually challenging to create something unique each time! My biggest tip for creating unique beauty perspectives is to experiment with different angles, lighting and hair & makeup concepts. There can be a lot of elements going on in such a tight frame, so I often find it’s better to start with a simple makeup look and build on the idea as the day goes on. Having an open minded creative team (hair and makeup artists) can also help and conversations before and during the shoot can open up a world of ideas!
For both of these shots I used the Canon EOS R5 and the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM lens (with Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R). As always I was incredibly impressed with the detail & eye-tracking ability which works well for me when my subject is flow posing and moving continuously.”
