What’s in #CanonExplorerOfLight @michelecelentanophotographer’s gear bag? Find out below!
“I’m a portrait photographer that works in a studio as well as on location so it’s important that my cameras and lenses fit in one bag that I can take anywhere. When Canon launched the EOS R5 and EOS R6 I immediately jumped to mirrorless and I can’t imagine shooting anything else!
My favorite go-to lens on location for family or high school senior portraits is the RF70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM. The lens allows me the freedom of moving fast, being able to change the focal length for different variations of the same pose. The other reason I love the RF70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM is the collar. I generally shoot on a tripod and the collar allows me to smoothly switch between vertical and horizontal since I mount the collar to the tripod head. I also love the compression this lens offers. I can often shoot at wider apertures with this lens in order to maintain a shallow depth of field for soft and creamy backgrounds.
The RF24–105mm F4 L IS USM is the perfect travel lens for me. It gives me a bit more focal length than the other lenses, and is a little more compact. The ultimate dream lens for me is the RF85mm F1.2 L USM DS! I call this lens ‘butta’ (butter with a Brooklyn accent!). For me the RF85mm F1.2 L USM DS is the ultimate portrait lens, it is incredibly sharp and so flattering for the face. The EF 135mm f/2L USM is always in my bag because it just creates gorgeous portraits when space allows. The RF50mm F1.2 L USM is an amazing lens for larger groups in the studio.”

“The viewer is so these 51 year old eyes can check the LCD and see the back of the camera in bright light outside.”
