“The lighting was optimal for shooting waterfalls in the gorge this day; mostly cloudy with filtered light. With these conditions, I used my 4 stop neutral density filter paired with a polarizing filter. Filters allow the photographer to achieve the desired effect they are envisioning. By using a neutral density filter I could increase my shutter speed to smooth out the water, and cut through the glare on top of the water at the same time.
Do you use filters to work around difficult light?“
