#BehindTheShot with #CanonExplorerOfLight @lindsayadler_photo: “One the greatest gifts as a photographer is the ability to create images that capture a special moment in a person’s life or immortalize a special relationship. This portrait is from an engagement session I shot for my amazingly beautiful friends. I created this image on a frigid winter day, and we wanted to grab a few outdoor shoots but to do so quickly! I scouted around the corner from my studio until I found this beautiful and cinematic looking natural light bouncing off of large white building, creating a soft and directional light source. Behind them was nothing more than a metal door, so I decided to shoot at a very wide aperture to kick it out of focus and to create a romantic and dream-like mood to the image. I chose the EF 85 f/1.4L for flattering compression and shot wide open at F/1.4 for a striking narrow depth of field that helped simplify the scene behind them. Thankfully the EOS R has Face Tracking and Eye Detection Autofocus to help me nail the focus on the Steve’s eye even at such a narrow depth of field. It allowed me to nail focus to get the image quickly before my subjects froze in the cold! This was one of their favorite images of the shoot! Congrats guys!” If you want to see a complete behind the scenes video of this shoot and learn more, you can visit https://Canon.us/38mce or swipe up on today’s story!
