Travel to Nara, Japan: Tenkawa Village, Tamaki Shrine, Tenkawa Daibenzaiten Shrine
Nara Prefecture is not famous only for its deer and toai temple. Today’s journey is an enjoyable trip to visit shrines in Tenawa village and Totsukawa village, Yoshino district, Nara Prefecture. Shrines said to be reachable only if the gods call you. Across from Nala station to Tangawa village takes about 2.5 hours by train and bus. Details are writing in the description. So don’t forget to subscribe to the channel and hit the like button. The river has a plenty of trout and there is a restaurant where you can eat a river fish. The Dorogawa area in Tangawa village has hot springs and you can usually enjoy its nostalgic scenery. Shops are open on weekend but on weekdays many shops are closed. This is a shakujo a stuff used by Shugenja Japanese mountain aentics. The rings attached to the tip collide with each other to produce a sound when traveling through mountains and wilderness. This ritual implement serves to ward off wild animals and venomous snakes thereby preventing unnecessary killing. This mountain village at an elevation of approximately 820 m once prospered at a key center of Sugendo in the Omin mountain range and even today Sugena mountain aentics continue to gather here. Ait total welcomed us in Dorogawa. There is a famous spring called Dorogawa water selected as one of Japan’s 100 famous waters. There are spots where you can drink the spring water directly and there is also cider made with this renowned water. We climb an unbelievably narrow path and explore our way to the spot where the suspension bridge is located. The Kaligan Bridge is a suspension bridge with a total length of 120 m and a height of 50 m. There are occasionally small holes in the floor of the bridge. So for someone like me who is afraid of heights, it is absolutely terrifying. I keep cheering myself on as I make it across the swearing suspension bridge. In the Dorogawa area, the rock swallow Iatubame designated as a natural monument by Nara Prefecture is locally called Karan. The bridge was named Karigan Bridge out of the desire to preserve its habitat. Moving a little further, we are finally heading to the shrine that only those who are truly called by the gods can reach. Tenawad Benzen shrine has an unknown founding date, but its existence is recorded in a document from 11:15, giving it a history of over 900 years. Before worshiing, pure your hands and mouth with water at the Chuya hand washing pavarium. Although access is inconvenient, it is well worth visiting. Tenawa Benzai shrine is regarded as one of Japan’s three major Benzai shrines. Benzai is famous as the goddess of performing arts and music. So some renowned Japanese singers visit this shrine for worship. This shrine and shrines have been no benzen at armed dama benzen a powerful water deity who commands dragon gods. The isuzu 50 bells that visitors ring during worship at the shrine is a unique sacred treasure passed down since ancient times. It symbolizes the evolution and harmony of the soul and its career. Pure tongue is said to purify the mind and body while rewarding off evil spirits. Many business owners and executives also visit this shrine to pray for financial prosperity and success in business. Beyond simply offering prayers, by immersing oneself in the abundance of nature and the seran quietness of the shrine, one can come and realign the mind often leading to new insights or a sense of divine guidance. This is a sacred place where the gods gather. Here the names of the gods are inscribed. There is a well-known story that a famous singer received inspiration at this shrine, wrote the lyrics there and felt the melody descending from heaven. From Tenawa Benzite shrine, drive about 2 hours south to Tamaki Shrine located in Totukawa village, Yoshino country, Nara Prefecture. Registered as a UNESCO world heritage site, it renowned as a powerful spiritual spot and a holy site for Shugendo practitioners. We think it is genuinely challenging, which makes the upcoming footage especially valuable. For those who wish to visit safely, I highly recommend taking one of the organized bus tours. On the way to the shrine, mobile phone signal is completely out of range. Navigation apps stop walking and the road is an extremely narrow mountain path with sharp curves. Many areas marked for rockfall hazard and spots where passing oncoming vehicles is difficult. The exact date of this shrine’s founding is unknown, but it preserves an ancient form of worship in which a sacred zone serves as the direct object of veneration. I purchased a kagura suzu. I love its beautiful tone. This shrine is home to a grove of giant shidas designated as Nara Prefecture natural monuments, including numerous ancient trees believed to be over 3,000 years old. Was today’s journey found for you? I hope lots of wonderful things come your way today, too. See you again soon.
